Conversely, Crispin's strategy of dragging a dead dragon through the streets backfired. The first indication dragons are not gods, that just maybe the aristocracy are playing the people in order to control them. Age old story. Pick a "side". The regime loves you. Also interesting is how Rhaenys was portrayed as being so benevolent, but she had no prob nonchalantly using her beast to trample 100s of peasants on Coronation Day. Neither side is "Team Smallfolk" at this point. If they were, they wouldn't be deploying "nukes" on each other. They'd want to avoid collateral damage, get a Peace Summit together. But then we wouldn't have a show.

@@DoublePMedia perhaps, but I inferred the issues in the reach being the reason for Otto being afk rather than driving the food shortages. For example, they said on the show that the people were starving because of the blockade specifically. Ik it’s probably something to just turn my brain off because of a tv format but knowing the layout of the land this whole storyline of the blockade and the small folk seems ludicrous and forced in order to try and balance the scales.

There were definitely some check-ins on dangling storyline threads (like rhaena + jane arryn, where in the world is otto san diego, and the oft-mentioned jason lannister), and some actual forward momentum on others (like larys' missteps and alicent's unceremonious removal from the council).
